Registration: "Is Beekeeping Right For Me" 2024/Required Orientation Session
Free Online Session: Is Beekeeping Right for Me?
Interested in beekeeping and wondering if this hobby is right for you? Join us for this 90-minute session covering the costs, time-commitment, and logistics of keeping bees. This session is designed for people who are curious about beekeeping but aren’t sure what to expect, but will not cover the specifics of hive management, bee biology, or how to keep bees. You will also learn about the DC Beekeepers Alliance 8-week Beginning Beekeeping course and how to register if you decide that keeping bees is something you want to pursue.
Completion of this session makes you eligible to register for the DC Beekeepers Alliance (DCBA) 8-week Beginning Beekeeping course. Attendance at only one session (of your choice) required.
Zoom sessions will be accessible 15 minutes before the scheduled times below. We recommend you sign in a few minutes early so you are ready when the session begins.

Participation and Session Details
Completion of this free session is the first step to register for the DCBA/UDC Beginning Beekeeping Class which will begin in January 2025. You are not obligated to move forward with registration for the beginners class, though only participants will later receive registration information.
The DCBA/UDC Beginning Beekeeping Class will take place both in person and online. Classes take place Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM on From January 21 to March 11, 2025. Students are required to attend all classes or complete makeup to receive a Certificate of Completion for the course. This course carries no academic credit.
After submitting this form, you will be asked to complete a Zoom registration for the session of your choice.
